Introduction

The unthinkable happens in 2016. A nuclear exchange in the Middle East kills 20 million people and cripples the world's oil supply. Crude oil prices spike at $800 a barrel.

One year later, the threat of world-wide nuclear war is eliminated when the United States and Europe deploy a comprehensive space-based anti-ballistic missile shield. Russia soon follows with an advanced missile defense system of its own. Intercontinental ballistic missiles are rendered obsolete.

Russia becomes the world's primary supplier of energy and experiences a massive economic boom. With its new found riches, Russia quickly re-establishes itself as a major superpower and restores her military might.

Western Europe, with the notable exception of the UK and Ireland, unifies to create the European Federation. This new nation is destined to be a formidable 21st-century Superpower.

In 2020, the United States is on the verge of finishing construction on the Freedom Star, a controversial orbital military platform that will upset the balance of world power. The European Federation withdraws from NATO in protest.

Tensions between the European Federation, the United States, and Russia are building and will soon reach the end of world peace.

Russia, seeing a war between them, the European Federation, and the United States as allies in an attempt to steal Russia's oil secretly disguises them selves as European troops, infiltrating and securing the codes to one of Europe's many orbiting Laser satellites. In Florida, the Freedom Star prepares for launch, as the ship powers up the laser is fired destroying the Freedom Star and all aboard.

The U.S blames Europe, and declares war on both the European Federation and the Russians. The United States invades Britain, and begins operations of "liberation" The E.F.E.C. (European Federation Enforcers Corp) responds sending their best and brightest to defend the overwhelmed nation. Meanwhile Russia pushes west into the heart of Europe, and also launch attacks into the East coast of the United States.

The Americans have decided to open a new front, in Spain to relieve the stress of their forces in Britain. To do so means they must destroy valuable equipment to stop the Europeans from re enforcing the beach heads. The war goes on for nine weeks, desperate fighting ensues and casualties rise. Soon the war will reach a critical Breaking Point, where one side will claim victory, and the other two will begin to see defeat.

The Endwar has begun.

Chapter One: Enter The Ghost
V-25 Goshawk Troop transport, Callsighn: Razors Edge
The V-25 Goshawk flew quietly through the moonlit sky, it came in low across the calm water or the northern Mediterranean sea, in front of it layed the huge land mass of Italy, a land steeped in history and culture. The moon light reflected off the surface making the V-25 somewhat stand out, like a huge bird looking for a fish to snatch up, she was new to the JSF force, out fitted with special stealth equipment the bird was invisible in every way, well unless you saw it of course. The tiltrotar aircraft was not like its Russian our European counterparts.. The twin engine fast entry vehicle was sleek and maneuverable, experiments with this aircraft proved tiltrotar planes had a 13 percent speed boost compared to normal helicopters used by the European Federation and Russian Spetznaz. It carried a twenty man squad, but tonight it only carried eight men.

From inside, Sergeant Frank Meadows watched the ocean below them. He sat back in the hard metal seat within the aircraft, it was cold for a summer night, the weather seemed never to favor the attacker in this war, Frank new all to well the effects weather good have. He remorsed how the U.S.S. Jenkins, an aircraft carrier based in the Baltic had been WMDed, he had watched from the support carrier Halifax, as thousands of men millions of dollars of equipment sank to the bottom of that cold sea. From what they could tell, the huge waves some how amplified the carries signature, giving the Russians and easy target.

Frank examined his SCAR A1, checking for dust. He looked to his left and right, his unit was the most elite of the JSF ghosts. Trained in accuracy and precision JSF ghosts were the cream of the crop in the United States army, and his unit was the cream of that crop. Franks squad had seen over one hundred fifty missions. This war had been going on for only nine weeks, he was tired, and was ready for some time state side.
Frank sat back in his uncomfortable chair, he closed his eyes as he listened to the wine of the Goshawks engines, he began to lose focus, sleep overtook him.
"Hey Sarge!" A man yelled into Frank's ear, he jolted up from his seat looking around. Finally his eyes refocused on the huge nosed man in front of him. It was the Jack, or the rookie as everyone else called him, the ex Navy SEAL had joined the Ghosts, he brought a swagger of importance, and sometimes annoyance.
"Yeah jack." Frank replied, wiping his his face with his hands. Sitting back up he clutching his A1, just in case he had to shoot Jack to shut em up.
"Whens insertion? We're all a little anxious." he said, sitting across from Frank.
Frank looked at him, all these men who called them selves JSF ghosts had been in combat, had all ready been through special forces training. So he gave Jack a little respect.

Frank took out a map, placing it in front of Jack. The map showed the Mediterranean sea, a big circle placed around Rome.
Frank lowered his voice. "Now in case you didn't notice that red circle right in front of you, we are heading into the heart of enemy territory, our troops are just now landing in Spain, and with Russia securing much of the northern east coast we need to take steps to make victory here even quicker. That's why high command has issued strict orders to deep strike this far into enemy territory. We'll be destroying supply depot's all through Italy during the night, and during the day we'll be laser designating targets for a fly boys to get their licks in." he said to him, handing the map over to Jack.
A crackle came over the intercom. "ETA to target three minutes boys. Lock and load, you know our motto High Speed, low drag. You'll all have thirty seconds before I dust off and if one of you is still on the rope. Well, that's your problem." The man said. Then Com clicked off.
Frank stood, his SCAR A1 in hand. "You heard em gents! Lets get this party started!"
There was a cheer all over the cabin of the V-25. The eight men all stood, moving towards the middle of the Goshawk. Two huge ropes hung from the ceiling. They would insert via rope drop, a drill they had all done countless times. The V-25 flew towards Rome, it climbed into the clouds as three European PAH-6 Cheetah helicopters flew towards the Mediterranean sea, heading out on patrol.
In the cock pit warrant officer Kyle Johnson was stead fast a the controls, he had been flying Goshawks since 2014, and now it was 2018. "Thank god Intel was right, a few seconds before or a few seconds later and those cheetahs would have spotted us." he said to his co-pilot.
"Yes sir, gotta love intelligence." She replied. Throttling the V-25 down.
The bird moved swiftly above Rome, the beautiful ancient architecture still stood intact. They flew to the inland side of the city, siting several open fields.
"Okay Sarah put us down, I'm going to prep the drop ramp."
Kyle got up, opening the rear door leading out of the cock pit. As he exited, the ghosts, which were all ready around the drop ramp stared at him. Ghosts and pilots didn't get along. He moved to the control panel near the rear of the bird, he entered the seven digit code. BANG! The metal ramp popped in the floor below reveling the grassy country side. The ghosts all took a step back. The V-15 slowed into an open field the engines rotated skyward as the aircraft hovered over the ground. The ropes which dangled on the ceiling popped lose, launching down they hung all the way to the ground. Frank looked at his squad, then his watch. "Go! Go! Go!" he yelled. Jack, the rookie was the first to go, fallowed by another and another. Until only Frank remained. Kyle motions for him to go. Frank grabbed the rope, and appropriately gave Kyle the middle finger as he slid down.

Chapter 2
Frank Meadows slid down the rope fast, dust coming up from the V-25's roaring engines erupted all around him. Within in five seconds frank hit the ground, just in time too because the pilot hadn't liked Frank's finger. The black rope fell to the ground on top of Frank. He was lucky he still hadn't been on the rope. Frank Meadows was at best the most qualified man for long missions behind enemy lines. He had seen alot of combat, even before the war had broken out, the man had been in Iraq and Afghanistan back in 2009 and 2010. He stood six feet tall, his thin blond hair flapped in the cool breeze.

Frank scanned around looking for his squad, the stealth gear they wore not only served as body armor but concealed them in the night well. It was a newer technology being developed and only JSF ghosts got the privilege to play with it. Frank hoped it would come in handy tonight.
Meadows Keyed his com. "Ghosts form up." he whispered quietly. Around him stood an old barn house, with tall grass all around it. They had landed in a patch of dirt not four feet wide near the tan barn house. The roof was caving in and from what Frank could see mold had formed all around it. No one had been in that for years. "Perfect." Frank mumbled to himself.
Suddenly out of the tall grass seven tall bulky men appeared, all decked out in their body armor, the armor had saved almost all of these Men's lives at least once, and was a direct descendant of the land warrior program. Each mans armor was different in one way or another, JSF ghosts were aloud to "customize" their armor giving it a special name or a insignia. These ghosts were a deadly instrument, and that night they would be using their deadly skills to hasten an all ready prolonging war.
The squad stood around Frank, each man ready for the long mission ahead. "Gents, tonight is the night we shine. You all know the plan, and we have trained for this mission for a week. Everyone gets home understood?" he said firmly. The men all nodded their heads, it would be a long night but with out any mistakes they would all be alive my morning.
Frank removed a GPS navigator from one of his many cargo pockets. He held it in the middle of the group. "Our target is three kilometers from here, if any of us get lost this is our meet up point here." he said pointing his finger on the GPS console. It blinked, putting a red check mark next to their location. "Move it out." Frank said pocketing the device.
The squad all in unison backed out of the circle they had formed, quickly and quietly moving back into the grass. Frank looked up at the stars. Then shouldered his SCAR A1, moving quickly to catch up with his squad.

Chapter 2

Paris, France

"Does it matter how many there are?! We're being overwhelmed in Britain! I cannot to save my life find one competent commander in the whole Enforcers Corp!" .President Nathalie Pérreau yelled into the phone. "I have a meeting in Berlin tomorrow to assure the German people Europa will endure in spite of the Russian push, and with the American invasion of Britain, I don't know how much longer the European people can last General Amadou. How many of your colonels are failing to do the Job? I do not have the heart for such wastes of human life, especially Europeans life! Get the Job done, and please if not for me, then for the European Federation!" She clicked the phone off with a heavy sigh. Looking out at Pari' she wondered how much longer until American forces would cross the English channel, Europa wasn't doing well, and her country needed a miracle. She stood from her desk throwing the thought to the wind, Europa leader couldn't be having second thought, especially not now, she grabbed her brief case as she headed for the exit, the president of the European Federation had many things to get done that day.

* * * *
General Amadou set down the mobile phone. He looked out across London as tanks and Infantry fighting vehicles passed his command post, they were situated on the banks of the Thames river, from there he could see the huge clock, Big Ben as the locals called it, what a name for a clock he pondered..
The generals was tall, and well built, his huge brown eyes had the look of years of combat experience within them. Giving most of his Junior officers a scare whenever he yelled at them. Being from Africa he didn't like the cold country of Britain, he remembered the hot summers he spent in Africa, the long years of military training, the General missed the old days. What he would give to be in this war. "This country didn't want to be in the Federation two years ago, and now they Cherish the fact we're here." he said aloud in his thick western African accent. A lieutenant sitting at one of the Command posts many consoles looked up at him, nodding slightly and then returning to his communication duties.

A jeep rolled up onto the green lawn, it parked in front of the tent. The general watched several officers get out, slamming the doors gently. They approached him. Amadou stood at the entrance of the large canvas tent, the wind began to pick up making a howling noise.
One of the men gave him a crisp salute, soon fallowed by the two others standing behind the man.
"Sir." the man finally spoke. " I an Major Benjamen Apol, Intelligence in Germany has saw fit to give you a heads up of the possible secondary invasions."
The General looked at him, unimpressed.
"Come inside." Amadou said motioning the way with his hand. The one officer turned around grabbing a briefcase from one of his aids. "They'll wait outside sir, I have something in here I think you should see."

The two men entered the tent, moving the the large wooden table in the center.
"Leave us." the General said quite loudly. As he did, the men and women in the tent all got up from their stations moving quickly and quietly out. One of them shut the tent closed.
"What is it major, and please do hurry, I don't have time for intelligence to come and interrupt my ops."
"I shall be brief sir." the man said opening the metal case. He took out several maps of Europe, placing them in front of Amadou. "Sir, last night we were hit from behind our own lines in Italy. Several million Euros worth of supplies and equipment were destroyed by American missile strikes. This further suggests the Americans are preparing to invade Spain sir. I also bring orders from High Command for you to leave here at once and take up command in Rome, we have the finest Kamando unit moving into Italy to seek out and destroy the American infiltrators."
The General studied the maps carefully. "How to we know it was an infiltration unit?" he asked, but knew the answer.
"Simply put sir, no American missile can come that far inland without being pinpointed, either by a plane or men on the ground, and I can assure you sir, there were no birds in the air that night except ours."
Amadou sighed heavily. "Very well, thank you major I will prepare to leave at once, who will take up command here?" he asked moving towards the exit of the tent.
The major quickly gathered his papers putting them back inside the briefcase. "Someone from France sir, they are well qualified."
Amadou turned, opening the tent entrance half way, the breeze from out side came in cooling Amadou's face.
"Get the Americans responsible for the destruction of Europa's assets." And with that he left the tent, moving towards his staff car.

* * * * * *

Frank looked up behind the huge rock his squad was behind, they sat above the base, the position over looked everything. The Europeans had placed this small outpost in the bottom of a small canyon. It was completely secured from all sides except the entrance, it was in the shape of a large square, a traditional make. This is exactly what Frank wanted, they would have the high ground in this raid. In front of him was one of the largest stockpile of tanks he had ever seen. Over nine platoons of Enforcer tanks sat, motionless in the moonlit sky. It had been four hours since they touched down, and now they would finally get to see some fireworks. Two men came up behind him. "Sarge." one of them said quietly. Frank turned. It was Jason, the squads demolition expert. He was the funny one out of the group, and had been with Frank since the formation of his squad. The rock they hid behind was only meters from the front gate, and the large spotlights that illuminated the ground in front of them. Four huge tours lined the perimeter, guards stood ever vigilant. Looking down range in their sniper scopes. The depot was lined with huge barbwire fence, over eight feet tall. It was clear to Frank Europa valued their tanks.
Jason Continued after the brief silence. "Mendez and Gorge are on the other side awaiting orders, you want us to take the guards out first? This base a little big sir. No disrespect."
Frank looked at him, fire burned within his eyes. "Shut the hell up Jason, wheres the rookie?"
Jason looked left and right. "Dunno sir, seems he's..." the mans voice trailed off as he caught sight of Jack. The ghost moved forward slowly on the ground near the edge of the fence. He crawled slowly towards one of the huge towers. Frank keyed his mike, more angry than before. "what the hell are you doing soldier?!" he yelled as quietly as he could.
They all watched as Jack grabbed his mike, motioning his hand back and forth, signaling the shut the hell up I'm within ear shot.
Frank turned to Jason. "Tell Mendez and Gorge to get ready to take out the guards on the far towers. The five of us will take out the one near us. Seems Jack is going to handle the fourth one.
Suddenly there was a huge explosion! The spot where Jack had been crawling moments before was now covered in a huge inferno!
"Land mine." Frank mumbled. Frank stood, aiming his SCAR A1 down range at the closes tower. He centered his shot on one of the guards, who was quickly glancing back and forth. Wondering what the hell was going on. "Jason tell Gorge and Mendez to take out the guards on the far towers. Hopefully their better shots than last time." Fran said before pulling the trigger. He cited the guards heart. CRACK! The bullet exited the chamber flying quickly, Frank saw the bullet impact the man, he was thrown backwards. Tumbling out of the tower. The other four men near Frank all stood. They could see the tower guards looking. Several men on the ground came out of the small building near the gate. Crack! Crack! Two more shots bolted through the quiet nights sky. Mendez and Gorge did their job, all the guard towers where now clear. The sarge keyed his mike. "Nice shot boys, fire at will."
Suddenly from behind Frank, the other four men started shooting at the European troops, they fell easily to the Ghosts superior training and accuracy.. Through the chain link fence, Frank watched them die. Not knowing where the fire was coming from, they ran like chickens with their heads cut off running about trying to take cover behind the many tanks, bullets pinged off the tanks armor killing them more and more, the small garrison of soldiers died without knowing who their enemy was. Within a matter of minutes the entire camp had been annihilated.

The dust settled around the camp, not a single ghost moved from their positions. Ten minutes passed like ten hours to the men. Then finally Frank said over the Com. "Ghosts, clean it up."

As soon as he spoke those words the eight now seven man squad moved silently down the hill, Jason was in front, he quickly took out a piece of cord unraveling it. He threw it across the field that led onto the only rode into the base. BOOM! the cord ignited the remaining land mines clearing the way for the rest of the squad

They moved into the camp, dead bodies of European regular troops laid scattered about, Frank walked into the camp, near the small barracks he saw the symbol JSF on one of the bodies. Frank walked over to it quickly, shouldering his A1 he knelt beside the burnt corps. It was Jack, the mans legs had been blown off, blood sill oozed out of his gut. His eyes wide open, his facial impression was one of agony and fear.
Frank slid his hand down the fallen soldiers eyes. "Get these tanks ready to blow gents." he yelled aloud. "Only a matter of time before reinforcements get here,"
